Frequently Asked

Common questions,
honest answers.

If your question isn't here, just reach out. We'd rather have a real conversation than a generic answer.

Donating gear

Gently used sports equipment that's safe, clean, and usable. Balls, gloves, bats, cleats, jerseys, bags, and most practice gear. The full accepted-items list is on our Donate Gear page.
Damaged, expired, or unsafe items. Used helmets older than 5 years, anything personal-fit (mouthguards, cups), broken or splintered equipment. Our rule: if we wouldn't pass it to a kid we know, we don't pass it forward at all.
For larger donations within the Parkland area, yes. Reach out and we'll schedule a pickup. For smaller donations, drop-off during a scheduled drive weekend is the easiest path.
We can provide an acknowledgment of your donation. Formal tax receipts depend on our 501(c)(3) status, which is in process. Once that's finalized, all donors will be eligible for tax-deductible receipts.

Donating funds

Pickup gas, cleaning supplies, packing materials, shipping, and the everyday operational costs that turn a donated ball into a delivered ball. We'll publish a breakdown of fund use in our monthly impact updates.
Donation processing is being set up. Until it's live, reach out directly and we'll get you instructions for giving. We'd rather do this slowly and right than fast and sloppy.
Yes, that's part of the plan once our donation infrastructure is live. Recurring donors are the heartbeat of any nonprofit, and we want it to be easy to set up.

Volunteering

Most roles are open to ages 14 and up. Pickup driving requires age 16+. We welcome students, parents, teams, and anyone who cares about kids and sport.
A sorting day is usually 3-4 hours on a weekend. A drive shift is 2-4 hours. You don't need to commit to a recurring schedule, just show up when you can.
For the on-the-ground work, yes. As we grow into other cities, we'll open volunteer roles there too. If you're remote and want to help, reach out: there's almost always something.

About the foundation

Our 501(c)(3) registration is in process. Until that finalizes, we're operating in the early-foundation phase, building the model and partnerships first. We'll update this page once that status is confirmed.
Currently, our pilot work is in the Dominican Republic, where we partner with local churches that run established youth programs. The church is our trusted entry point into each community. Each confirmed destination is documented on our Impact page.
Send us a note. We're actively building partner relationships and prefer to start a conversation rather than fill out a form. Churches with youth programs, schools, coaches, and community organizations are all welcome to reach out.
The foundation was started by Mathi Abreu, a high school student in Parkland, Florida, after service trips to the Dominican Republic. Read his full story on our About page.
